Other places my words have appeared:
Southern Review of Books: I reviewed Sleepovers, a stunning short story collection by Ashleigh Bryant Phillips.
CharlotteFive: “Do you know about the safehouses that move around Charlotte?” I had the opportunity to educate fellow Charlotteans about the human trafficking that thrives within my home city’s borders. Interviewing Lisa Koons, one of the individuals at the helm of Charlotte’s anti-trafficking efforts, threw a harsh light on what makes Charlotte conducive to the industry and some of the strategies for survivor rehabilitation.
Bella Magazine: “Tales from New Zealand.” This short essay was featured in the summer travel issue of Bella Magazine, a regional magazine in central and southwest Virginia. To read, go to page 7 of the online edition.
Salem Times-Register: “Salem Museum hosting ‘Against the Grains’ art exhibit.” While interning for a small newspaper in Salem, VA, I wrote several stories about events happening around the city. This piece features a group of outsider Virginia artists who combined their wildly different styles to rise above the noise.
